This presentation will present data on local employment and unemployment rates, and wages. We will discuss worker supply and demand in the local labor market. We will also discuss the challenges of recruiting in a tight labor market.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Brooks received his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and his undergraduate from UW Madison. He is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics, and Chair of the Department of Finance at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. He is also principal owner of Taggert Brooks Economic Consulting. His research interests cover a wide variety of applied economics topics, including the economics of health, and healthcare choices. His work has been published in several scholarly journals. In the past he has taught macro theory, money and banking and most recently he taught business research methods. He is frequently interviewed on local television, Wisconsin Public Radio, and has had his work featured in the Economist.
