In this program Steve will help us:
Traditional models of armored leadership may work if the setting never changes and the organization never grows. For those of us who work in an environment of rapid change and relentless efficiency, we need Daring Leaders. These leaders practice courage, are willing to face their vulnerability, build connections among their teams, encourage empathy, and develop resilience to shame.

Steve Spilde is the Associate Director at the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse. He has master’s degrees from Washington State University (Economics) and Luther Seminary (Theology). He is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator in the work of Dr. Brené Brown.
Steve leads workshops and retreats on the topics of self-acceptance, self-care, the Enneagram, and other tools for spiritual growth. He meets with a wide variety of individuals as a spiritual director and serves as the Director for the FSC’s Spiritual Direction Preparation Program. He claims two experiences as critical in his development as a leader. He served as pastor to a Lutheran congregation near Madison during a time of transformation and rapid growth which culminated in the construction of new facilities. Following that experience, he spent several years as a stay-at-home father providing support to his daughter who faces the challenge of autism. She has become his most important teacher with her example of courage and relentless authenticity.
