Mental Health First Aid: Mental Illness in the Workplace
ft. Jeff Thomson
During this program Jeff will help us:
- Identify the risk factors & warning signs for mental health & addiction
- Learn how to apply the strategies for helping someone in both crisis & non-crisis situations
- Learn how to guide people on where to turn for help
- Learn to apply the ALGEE method to aid in someone finding the appropriate help
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis.Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to the signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. This training gives you the skills that you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance abuse problem or experiencing a crisis.
