LASHRM February Meeting | Winning at Working Parenthood: An HR Practitioner's Perspective

There are 52 million American working parents - and work/life flexibility is one of the top factors in employee decisions to take (or leave) a job. But beyond offering parental leave, what can employers, leaders and HR teams do to meet the challenge? In this program Daisy Dowling will offer perspective, cover trends, and provide tools for retaining and benefitting from working-parent talent.

During this meeting, the speaker will help us:

  • Deepen understanding on the working-parent challenge facing employees and leaders
  • Provide an overview of effective organizational practices in meeting the challenge
  • Offer specific executive coaching tools and techniques for HR leaders and their teams to use with the working parent population. 

More about the Speaker: 

Daisy Dowling is Founder & CEO of Workparent, a specialty coaching and consulting firm that supports working parents and organizations that employ them. She is also Harvard Business Review columnist on working parent matters, author of the book Workparent: The Complete Guide to Succeeding on the Job, Staying True to Yourself and Raising Happy Kids (HBR Press, May 2021), and Series Editor for the HBR’s Working Parent Collection of books. Daisy has advised working parents at leading and diverse organizations such as KKR, Pfizer, Paul Weiss, Dow Jones, Disney, Omnicom, the NBA, Lincoln Center and the United States Air Force. Daisy’s work has been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, and Fast Company, amongst other publications, and her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, CNN.com and on NPR. She is the proud working mom of two young children.
